Oriental Sweetness
As the name suggests, "Oriental Sweetness" is a far Eastern based interior trend. Taking its design elements from both modern and traditional Japanese ideas. Lots of soft water colour style canvas prints and textiles are key if you want to successfully create this elegant interior.
Taking influences from the the East, Oriental Sweetness is a modern interpretation of the classic Oriental trend. Flat tones and simple illustrations are key, use simple and soft colours with oriental theme textiles and artwork. With the increasing popularity of oriental trends over the last decade, we expect this to be one of the most popular trends for 2009.
2009 will be a great year for interior design and the trend predictions reflect that.

The colour palettes for the 09 season features strong tones of red, purple and burgundy, contrasted with brighter shades or neutral tones in unlikely combinations. The base for all the colour palettes can be made up from Neutrals, white, brown and bark.
Japanese, Oriental florals are inherently simple in their form, one of the aspects that I love is the minimal block colour approach, it is like pop art, but pioneered hundreds of years early. If you look at Japanese & indeed a lot Asian art, it closely resembles what graphic design has now become in a CAD based world. Blocks of colour that would have been intricately painted with a watercolour brush is only now becoming a popular graphic design technique, thanks to Adobe Illustrator.
